One of the major focus areas of the Skill India Mission is to prepare our youth for opportunities for employment in the global markets. To meet this objective, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship is setting up India International Skill Centers (IISC) to provide skill training and certification benchmarked to International Standards.
India International Skill Centers shall be set up through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and shall impart training through the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PKVY) to youth seeking global mobility for jobs.

National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a new scheme of Government of India to provide financial support to establishments undertaking the apprenticeship training. It was launched on 19th August 2016. To promote apprenticeship training in the country.
Apprenticeship Training is a course of training in any industry or establishment, undergone in pursuance of a contract of apprenticeship between employer and apprentices and under prescribed terms and conditions.

Placement Linked Skill Training Development Program Assam Skill Development Mission ASDM has initiated a State-Sponsored Skill Development Training Program primarily aiming at training the youth of the state and offering them placements. The program is run on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model. Training Partners are empanelled by ASDM after evaluation of their credentials and proposal. The Assam government has given high priority to skill development and promotion of entrepreneurship in the state & launched the state-funded Placement Linked Skill Development Training Program (PLSDTP). Covering all schemes (State and Central), we are targeting to skill 6 lakh people by the year 2020.

The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) announced the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) Antyodaya Diwas, on 25th September 2014. It’s a part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission, tasked with the dual objectives of adding diversity to the incomes of rural poor families and cater to the career aspirations of rural youth. The scheme focuses on catering to the occupational aspirations of rural youth and enhancing their skills for wage employment in the formal sector.
